Before any
of us start looking into hair growth products, or hair loss remedies let's take
a look at our problem first. There have been many throughout the time of
man who has come across the most popular hair-do of all time. Why do I
say most popular of all time? Because it has stood the test of time, as century
after century man has sported this look. Male pattern baldness is
something men dread. One day you look in the mirror and you notice that
your forehead looks unusually large, then you realize it is your hairline that
is receding. Over time you notice it just moves back ever so slowly, you
feel helpless. You think about hair growth products, but hold off hoping
life without hair will hold off as well. Then before you know it, it hits
you. The two semi bald spots that once graced your noggin have now become
one.
Okay for real though, joking around aside. Why does this happen? By
realizing what is happening we can then make an educated attempt to use hair
growth products that fit the symptoms. Male pattern baldness is caused by
two factors primarily. The first is the heredity factor; you know the one
that says because your dad and his dad lost their hair you will to. (Just
as an aside to make you guys feel better, by the time they hit 30 a quarter of
men will start losing their hair, and by the time they are 60 that number
changes to two-thirds. So you see it will probably happen to a lot of
guys around you, so don't feel so bad). Why do genetics play such a huge
role, well I'm not sure. Unfortunately no gene in particular has been
found. What has been found is how the mystery gene may activate a bad
relationship in your body that triggers a chemical that leads to hair
loss. This leads us to
The Second
Factor seems a bit odd at first until it is spelled out. The second thing
that affects you is that wonderful male hormone testosterone. I know your
thinking how is this possible? How can the same hormone that gives me hair in
funny places (especially during puberty) take away hair in the most normal
place, your scalp? Well I'll tell you! One night your testosterone
will sneak away and hook up with the beautiful enzyme 5 alpha reductase,
without using protection. Shortly after, their illegitimate and EVIL
child is born. Dihydrotestosterone, or better known by authorities as
DHT.
DHT starts to attack the
follicles on your head, causing them to become smaller over time until they
vanish completely. Then you have what is called androgenic alopecia.
See your not bald, you have a medical condition!
While researching keep in mind that any hair
growth products that claim to be a cure are lying. There is no outright
cure only ways to stop hairloss and/or promote hair growth while actively using
the product. Once use of the hair growth products stop, so does hair
growth! Until next time you beautiful bald men.
