Bacterial vaginosis, although included in the category of a sexually transmitted infection, is not exactly an STI. It is not passed on from one person to the other through sexual intercourse. However, having sexual intercourse with an infected partner can trigger this infection. This STI is basically caused by an imbalance of vaginal flora and is usually not uncomfortable. However, the infection, later in life, can lead to several severe complications if it spreads into other parts of your reproductive system. A woman who has contracted bacterial vaginosis can become more susceptible to contracting other sexually transmitted infections.

As is already known, bacterial vaginosis does not show any symptoms as a result of which diagnosing this infection becomes quite difficult. Hence, if you have had an unprotected sexual intercourse it is important that you take the bacterial vaginosis test two weeks afterwards. You should keep a gap of two weeks as the bacterial cells take that amount of time to appear as an infection on the test. In order to take the test, you are simply required to give your urine sample or a sample swab of the vaginal discharge for an analysis. If the test results are positive, they indicate that you have contracted the infection.

Metronidazole 400mg is an antibiotic which is used for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis in women. This antibiotic works by inhibiting the spread of the bacterial cells in your body. They give your natural defence system enough energy to fight off the infection by itself. The Metronidazole 400mg tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. You are required to take this tablet over a period of seven days, or can also take a single 2000mg dosage. This medication although safe, may cause certain side effects, which is why it is advisable to ask a doctor before taking the pill.

You can buy bacterial vaginosis treatment online through a registered online pharmacy. The most common sexually transmitted infection that is contracted by men and women is chlamydia. This is a sexually transmitted bacterial infection, which is caused by the chlamydia trachomatis bacterium. Being a bacterial STI, chlamydia does not show any symptoms, making it difficult for diagnosis. The symptoms that men can experience on contracting chlamydia include mild irritation at the head of the penis and discharge. Women, on the other hand, can experience abdominal pain, cystitis and vaginal discharge. Azithromycin 500mg is an antibiotic used for the treatment of this STI.

The Azithromycin tablets are prescription treatment for chlamydia which is supposed to be taken in a single dosage. You are required to take a 1000mg dosage of Azithromycin for treating chlamydia completely. If the Azithromycin 500mg tablets are taken as prescribed, they can cure the infection completely. However, it is advisable that you consult a doctor, as some may be sensitive to high dosages of an antibiotic. The side effects that this tablet can cause include fatigue, nausea, decrease in your appetite, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. These side effects usually occur temporarily and with moderate intensity.
